Grace and Gratitude Prayer

Dear Lord, thank you for this meal
which we are blessed to receive.

As you feed our mortal flesh with food,
fill our eternal spirit with your light
so that we always serve the good as we should.

We pray that you will grant grace and mercy
to those poor souls less fortunate than we are this day.

Keep us mindful to always be thankful for all our blessings
and to seek the strength of Heaven to bear all our burdens.

With a grateful heart, we thank you for blessing us
with good fellowship with whom we share your gifts today
as well as those forever in our hearts whom time or distance
withhold from our company this day.
